Creepy lah… hehehee
The second day I was in Japan, it was just work.. So lame~~
But, from the dinner the night before, I actually told my Japanese colleagues that i LOVE sashimi and ESPECIALLY tuna.. Having that thought, for lunch, they actually brought me to a typical sushi restaurant.. It’s pretty cool.. You got to sit at the bar and it’s really small too.. It can occupy like less than 14 people at a time.. But since people sit, eat and go, it almost feel like the place is always full and can still cater for all..
The food was excellent! I had a BIG portion of sushi; rice at the bottom and sashimi on top.. I always thought sushi is the small type.. But actually, the small normal ones i always have is called Nigiri.. and the one I had is called Tenka… Really nice but too much raw fish for me in a meal heeee =S
A meeting after that big lunch doesn’t help.. But good meetings help.. During the night, head out to Roppongi.. Went to a high end mall i assumed cause people there were.. well.. has this high end look.. hahaha!! But was not that bad.. I had dinner at in Italian restaurant and apparently, it is a fine dine restaurant.. Exquisite.. hehehe….
We were first served an appetiser that i have forgotten.. but i think it was salmon, roes, some small kind of flower and some other stuff.. it was nice.. cold sensation taste.. Lets just say, it deserves to be an appetiser =D
Then we had pasta served with poached eggs and sea urchin.. Mix it up, then you get the yellow egg to mix perfectly with the sea urchin.. The taste was incredible.. the full taste of the yolk and sweetness from the sea urchin mixed really well.. I’m actually drooling thinking of the taste hehehe..
Then, we got I think grilled salmon, served with peas and veggies and don’t remember what sauce.. the salmon was grilled to perfection and goes perfectly with the veggies.. *tibe2, teringat iklan “Kukus, grill, panggang.. kukus, grill panggang.. ehhehe*
Then, there was dessert.. Awesome chocolate cake/pudding/mousse.. Imagine all three on a spoon! yummeyyh~~~
After that, went round Roppongi area.. nothing much when you don’t drink or club.. but it sure is happening.. and i got to visit the hard rock to get a shot glass.. adding more to my collection =D
Okie.. i’m getting restless imagining good food and not having to taste it again..
off to bed~
I don’t really like flowers.. I don’t celebrate Valentines… But I LOVE SURPRISES! and all donts become lovely =)
2 days after my trip to Penang, I had to hop on a plane and flew 6 hours to the country of sunrise.. acehhh~~
My flight was at 1135pm so i have plenty of time.. But the thought of its kinda late.. and after that 6hours plus flight, i had to sit in with customers for a discussion.. fuhhhhh~~ Talk about mental exhaustion…
So yea.. I had to stay up in the airport till that late.. I was really tired already by then.. I just want to hop on the plane, and shut my eyes to sleep.. And that was exactly what i did.. Gile syok.. Didnt even eat dinner that they serve.. Heck.. It’s midnite supper.. and prolly still be eating rice and all dat stuff.. not my type of menu for supper.. Kasi laa haagen daaz ke.. For the very least, cake.. hehehe.. demanding.. yea yea.. hehe
I reached Narita International Airport around 7am in the morning.. My flight touched earlier than expected which was good for me since I have a meeting at 10am that i need to attend… I got out of the arrival lounge by 745am and went straight to the bus counter.. The best part while buying was the receptionist actually asked for my passport to verify my age so i could get special rates for UNDER 25years old.. I saw the ad and it was from JPY 2,900 to JPY2,500.. so I insisted not to give my passport. In the end, I had to tell her that I am over 25 years old.. She apologized but in my heart, I was kinda flattered.. hehehe…
Another hour to Yokohama was… like rocking a baby to sleep.. Had a few minutes to doze off.. Once I reach Yokohama, got my bag and there was my college.. I didn’t have the chance to change into my working attire! I just changed into my working tshirt and we are off… Had a good 2 hours meeting and we are off for lunch.. My colleges.. hurmmm… off topic.. my colleges here, they are all my dad’s and uncles’s age.. so they really do take good care of me like their own daughter i guess.. but, we still do talk about business.. So sometimes, it felt weird talking to older people and telling them what they could do when they probably have wayyyy much more experience then i do..
Anyways, they brought me to Kirin Factory.. It’s a beer brewing factory and its the largest from 4-5 factories that Kirin has.. Was not there for the beer OK! But apparently there’s a good food place to eat.. And like i said, they really took care of me and asked if any of the food without beer/alcohol.. Ok laa.. ade laa.. salad.. hahaha!! makan je la..
So.. This place is called Spring Valley Restaurant.. Nice ambient.. good food.. When i was there, there aren’t many people since people don’t really eat there for lunch during weekdays.. But, there’s a lot of people during the weekend.. especially the tourist group as well.. After their tour in the factory, they will sometimes stop there for a quick coffee or other than beer.. hehe.. I think they could actually taste freshly brewed beer from the tour.. Not that it matter to me 😉
After that, we just drove off to Tokyo and they left me in the hotel to check in, refresh and probably have a quick rest.. they’ll pick me up at 7pm for dinner.. By the time I’m in my room, it is already 4ish.. So I took a quick shower, set up my laptop real quick.. and before i was drown into my work, i took a quick sleep..
They asked me earlier what do i wanna eat and what’s my don’ts.. i just said.. Anything authentic and local.. So they brought me to a local cuisine restaurant cum a place for them to drink.. And all kind of vegetable dishes came in.. Radish, pickles, tofu etc etc.. then, there was sashimi.. THAT WAS YUMMY!! Especially the meguro.. In Malaysia, it’s not as fresh as the ones in Japan.. the sweetness is perfect and the flesh is just marvellous for me..
At first, they kind of hesitant to drink since I don’t drink.. But as time goes by and I kind of insist them, they did.. and they started to order other than veggies and fishes.. ehhe.. But they didnt put it near my plate.. Then, suddenly, came a plate with 4-5 thin slices of meat.. I know it is not fish or any seafood meat.. And then they told me it is one of their favorite cuisine and very good for the health; horse meat.. Okie.. If the horse is being slaughtered dengan care yang betul and COOKED… I wouldnt mind trying.. But this… tak sembelih satu.. it is raw!! ngaaaa!!
But it was definitely a good dinner.. I had fun with their craziness.. =)
The first time i went to Japan i don’t think i wrote anything about it.. It was in December… For work but shorter visit..
But well.. let me see if i can remember…
I reached Narita airport around 7pm I think.. Sampai sampai.. I can’t help but to smile and feel happy.. especially since its winter and I LOIKE winter! hehe.. Since sampai awal.. checked in and by then boss is already out for dinner, so I went out with a friend.. bawak pi jalan kat negara orang yang i have no idea about.. The first stop was Shibuya… The place where nothing much is going on but once the traffic goes green for pedestrian, sungguh laa happening.. But that kinda it.. hahaha!! tapi to be inthe middle of the keserabutan tuh agak syok.. hehehehe
Lepas tuh kami pi starbucks because i wasn’t that hungry… minum minum… then we jalan jalan summore.. Most of the time we just walk around to see the area… ala2 tengok kawasan.. hehehe.. nasib tak jumpe yakuza mane2..
Oh and I realized on my way to the subway station that my hotel is actually really near to Tokyo Tower and it’s really nice at night.. Really! Google Mielparque Hotel.. The price is also not as bad =)
The next day, after meeting, our Japanese college brought us to Skytree.. it was marvellous but the line was a disaster! We had to wait for an hour!! gilo! We just went round the place and bought some souvenirs and we were done.. Then we went to Senso-ji temple.. It is just a walk away from skytree so it was kinda convenient.. I like the area since they sell local stuff, local snacks and a lot of other stuff which i didnt get the time to check each stall.. By then, the night starts to crawl out and the weather gets colder.. So we decided to set home…
That night, I set out from hotel to Harajuku street.. Because they have like more than 5 lines of subways/railways.. I got hard time deciding which line should i take first and next and bla bla bla… so I ended up wasting time and money on a long track hahahaha!! Hence, before you do take the line, think carefully =p Regardless, I reached there safely and just walk around the streets.. That was kinda nice.. Eventho by then most of the shops are closed, but I still got to see some of the shops.. and theres this one street… Main street.. it has a lot of high-end brands.. But the shops/buildings sangat la smart! Didn’t get any pictures but i like the ambience.. Singapore has one street like that.. Malaysia……. Paling dekat i can think of is Bukit Bintang laa but not the shops/buildings.. the ambience, the lights.. more or less la..
Orite… I have a few stories pending and so I’m gonna do this since its the hooooooleeeeedayyyyhhhh!! *yeah~ excited lebih sebab busy sampai lupe skang long weekend*
So… We started our journey to Perak around 5ish… We stopped by Bukit Semanggol for prayers, call up homestay owners.. Pokcik homestay kami macam garang kut.. sebab we’ol janji 6pm and we ended up still in Bukit Semanggol at that time hehehe… Ooopss!! Sorry pakcik..We got time problem.. Car-lag =p
So off we go from there and reached Bandar Seri Iskandar around 730pm.. The homestay is only like 5km from UTP and in a new housing area. It is a 2 storey-link and hafta say.. Really nice and worth our money… Not that I remember how much but definitely cheaper than a hotel..
We asked Faisal and Hikmah where are they having dinner since Faisal is quite familiar with the area.. They ate at this place called….. I dont remember.. hahahaha!!! But its a restaurant near the Petronas pump station there and it serves western food. Since myn and Jurai had enough of Pasembur, they wanted something more…. local aka rice.. hehehe.. so Faisal recommended “Masakan Seafood & Thai” Restaurant.. Butttttttt… not sure why, we ended up eating with them.. good thing the restaurant do have fried rice… so yea… The place is actually not that bad.. I had Cordon Bleu and it was OK… and of course, the price is not super expensive… Always better =)
We reach home like 10pm ish.. and slept by 11pm.. We had to wake up early to be at Zati’s place around 930am….
Adzan subuh woke me up that morning and had our normal routine.. Wanted to continue my sleep a few more minutes but ended up berborak with the girls till we had to nag each other to go and take our bath and prepare..
Once we reach Bota, Zati was in Manjung to get ready.. So we kinda… lepak around the house.. hehehe.. few minutes after, she was back and we teman her in her room.. She had three other friends with her so we kinda stayed aside and let the three do last minute touch ups.. and we do ours.. haha!! And of course… picturesssss!! We cant resist that of course 😉
Once we knew the groom is already there, we went out and prepare ourselves at the best seat to view the whole holly event..
Cukup dekat laa tuh kan? hehehe
Congrats Zati and Adi!!
She’s finally married and we girls know how happy she was that day… Some of us even cried when everything is done cause it is such a touching moment.. *awww~~*
So the groom went back to his homestay to prepare for the evening reception.. and we again, duduk tepi buat semak rumah zati.. hehehe.. But zati’s dress was gorgeous; green+gold dress.. It was definitely different than the ones i’ve seen before and it is one of the best dress yet.. And of course, she looks lovely in it…
So yea, we joyah-ly again try to make ourselves useful.. arrange the hantarans…and…… that was it.. hahaha!! We really didnt know what to do.. she had everything well organized and nothing we could help out with… Good job Zati and family! 😉
Yes… we also do what we do best.. amek gambar.. hehehe… When the groom sampai.. it was already like 1pm I think and it was scorching hot!! I have no idea how the two newly weds did but the girls and I were too much of puteri lilin *girls who can’t stand hot weather*, we ended up borrowing the newly weds room hehehe.. Sorry Zati!! Some of us even had a quick nap! hehehe.. then around 3pm, college’s from Transwater came and gave me a call.. So I went out to teman them and kinda jadi host on behalf.. Then, the girls followed me out and had lunch.. by then, it was not as hot as before.. so kami boleh laa duduk di luar.. tuh pun duduk kawasan VIP.. hehehe..
Apparently, there was a few accidents on the highway, resulting heavy traffics.. So at the early part of the reeption, tak ramai friends but people started to pop-up after 330pm.. Good thing the food are all still there.. so again, great job Zati!
By 400pm.. people dah tak ramai but some Vandy people are still around.. Newly weds can finally sit with us and just catch up.. We even made the event “our” event when we requested Irwan to “dedicate” a song to the newly weds.. *more like nak suke-suke ajer~~* Good thing Irwan was a sport and did!
We went back around 430pm and we were definitely beat.. Went back, took a shower.. and thought we would take a nap.. but instead.. we end up berborak and gossiping.. hehehehehe… All we know, it was already time for maghrib… Time for prayers and makan again!!!
We wanted to eat seafood and we even asked Adi for recommendations.. Apparently, Lumut is not that famous for its seafood.. If there is any, it would be between Manjung area and Sitiawan.. We were told to go to this one restaurant with only 2 descriptions; The restaurant looks like it only serve Tomyam and it is yellow color.. Thanks Dr Adi.. that helps =D.. No, like REALLY! hahahhaa!!
there’s only one yellow restaurant and it does written there tomyam something2 restaurant.. we were too hungry *AGAIN!* and wanted to order everything.. good thing they don’t have ketam and kerang.. so we settle with kerapu, udang and sotong… hahaha!! basically, we cover all seafood laa kan? makan2.. abes~~~ Kami kenyang, lalu pulang dan tidur.. hahaha!!
The next day, we wanted to get a good breakfast but we have no clue where.. We were only told by Faisal, there’s a good Nasi Lemak bawah pokok, by the road to Ipoh.. by this time, Faisal, Hikmah, Lil Ameena and Fiqah has already gone back.. and because the description is too impossible for us to notice.. we just went out to the same area we had dinner the night before and had a heavy breakfast.. at 10am i think, they already serving lunch! that’s Malaysian brunch man!! hehehe.. and we head out to KL by 1130am…
On our way back, as we were approaching Tanjung Malim, I kinda like asked again if we want to check out the pau that people are talking about.. or should i say, Daia’s boss were talking about.. he even asked her to tapau for him.. heck, since we are already on the way, why not? and we did.. it was not hard at all to find it but because we were too busy depending on our SMARTPHONES.. we forgot to use our SMARTBRAINS to find it with our eyes.. long story short.. we were there~~
Wanted to tapau for a friend and called him up and asked.. He was like “no laahhh… the pau is not that good la.. at least for me.. you buy one first and try.. if you like it, then OK laa..” Good thing i called him up.. By then, Myn had a packet of pre-cooked pau in her hand.. so we did as we were told..
Verdict? well.. the dough was nice.. but not the filling.. Its.. normal.. nothing WOW to it.. and we end up eating 2 paus.. and that was it.. yeay for the call! hehehe..
we continue on our journey to KL… but!! our food hunting doesn’t stop there! Jurai wanted to eat sushi and we went One Utama for Sushi Zanmai… Good god the parking lots were TOTALLY FULL!!!!! we had hard time hunting for a car park for almost more than 30 minutes maybe?? and we were damn happy when we did.. by then, from not that hungry to hungry!! *could you see the pattern how we ended up eating a whole big meal??*
And our journey ends there… Everyone went back to their own place and lived on.. but at least, we finally did spoil our taste buds with good food and definitely, another moment to add in our good ‘ol moments in life..
So girls… where next? =D =D
It has been planned for months.. but only by verbal.. hehehe… Last minute, even our team leader was too busy; up and down platforms.. so someone has to start triggering the old taste buds that has been quietly craving for GOOD FOOD and good outing with good’ol frens..
We only agreed on our itinerary few weeks before it really happened.. and like always, last minute planning is always the best.. hehe… and this time around, we have new joiners.. This would be the first time we shall be travelling with Faisal and lil’ Ameena.. It is always fun with bigger group..
We started our road trip to north on Thursday.. Since it’s a long weekend, we expected a lot of cars on the road.. True enough, there were quite a few but not so much that we had to be in long-almost-no-end traffic.. though the girls slept at one point and had MY moments with Daia’s good ‘ol songs.. hehehe.. more like kene pakse layan hehe.. Once we reached Penang, first thing we wanted to do was EAT!! Our first stop: KAPITAN!
We wanted to go the one on Gurney Drive.. and to our surprise, it was closed due to renovation.. and our stomachs were more frustrated than we were!!
So bermula lah acara google-mengoogle.. Since we have set our mind to eat Chicken Milano la, Nasi beriyani la.. so we opt for another Kapitan near by.. and to our joy, there is another Kapitan nearby.. took us 10 minutes to that place and 5 minutes to know the exact place hehe.. we lost our sense of direction when our hunger control us.. We started to order the impossible.. we ate like we haven’t been eating for days! OK… over exaggerating.. we ate one meal each but we kinda did wish to order another.. Just because we THOUGHT the portion was kinda small..
In the end.. we settled with one meal each; cept for one who had 2 meals.. and yes, her meal was kind of small… *cough*yea rite*cough*..
Then we head to our homestay in Batu Feringhi.. Was not that bad at all.. it is on a hill side and we could see the sea from our floor.. From our balcony? errr.. well.. just some… de-foresting.. hehehe.. Because Faisal was kinda tired *alasan*, we just lepak.. our plan was to go to Padang Kota to eat pasembur.. but we were just too lazy to go though the curvy roads.. so we settled to just find something to eat around there.. at the same time, we could go round the night market there…
So we did go out like 8 ish.. i think.. second stop: SOME ARAB PLACE.. Apparently, that place is just FULL with arabs.. I thought there would be more seafood place.. but there’s only one and from other blogs, it seems expensive.. so we skipped that..
We were quite full so we had hard time to decide on food.. but i ate another meal of lamb.. gosh.. 2 meals of lamb in a day!! crazzeyy~~ *baru perasan* and OMG!!! this place was just quite horrible.. it took them god knows how long to serve us 8 small pieces of lamb, burger, wrap and something.. from not hungry to hungry! hehehe.. but by then, Ameena started to feel a lil grumpy.. so the mom and dad had to call it a night.. and left us 5 gals to the night market.. No pictures there cuz there isnt any interesting moment to take..
oh wait!!!! I did take a picture!!! It was Myn’s picture choosing some t-shirts…. then, this pengkid *local name for a girl who looks like a boy* told me that I can’t take a photo in the shop.. fine.. so i put my fon in my bag.. and she was like “Delete now.. in front of me..” I started to give her this whats-up-with-u-b***h, and didn’t do a thing.. she ain’t stopping there.. “delete saya nak tengok” you wanna see me delete it girl????? I brought it out, delete it, make an annoyed face with a smirk on my face and said “ok? PUAS???” and walked off.. Myn who was there all along, followed me out.. heck!! marah jugak aku.. cakap baik2 i can accept.. gelak2 sket.. okie laa.. cakap dengan penuh bagus.. padahal baju ntah pape je pun.. ishhh.. geram jugakkk hati~~ terus tkde mood for the night.. But regardless, I think each of us had something to bring back from the market =D =D
That morning, we went out like 9ish i think.. We started to feel hungry and we decided to eat MEE MAMAK in Hamiedah Restaurant.. We were so excited cause we were just too hungry for good food.. But again, our stomachs were sad to know the shop is closed.. not closed down but just not in operation that day.. have no clue why.. so we just move along while googling what to eat.. Then we saw LINE CLEAR NASI KANDAR and remember reading it somewhere.. so agreed to eat there.. well, we kinda dictate it.. Hikmah has no say as she had doubt with the cleanlinest of the place hehehe.. but it was not that bad.. it was neat.. and hafta say clean..
We were there at around 11am and there were only one or two groups before us.. We started to pick some food and i thought of getting 3 side lauks but this pakcik stopped me at my second order of chicken and chicken liver.. was kinda sad but ok.. It was good… wasn’t super marvellous but was good for my empty stomach.. and yes… didn’t get to finish it punn hehehehhe… was more than enough… everyone was happy with the food.. we chatted more and people started to walk in.. I was sitting against the entrance so didn’t know what’s happening behind me.. cept people started filling the place.. and by the time we were on our feet to move out, there’s a LONGGGGGG line… was happy we did come earlier than the crowd.. and was more surprised with the line.. People actually wouldn’t mind at waiting in a long line to eat at this place.. In all honesty, its not super delicious that you’ll never stop thinking about it.. but yeah.. we still had our stomachs happy =D
We then make our move to Gurney Plaza.. Nothing in particular just we need to give back the key to our homestay.. and i need to find myself ribbon for my dress.. hehe.. it is just another mall with starbux, aldo, charles keith etc.. so nothing special there.. but we spent there like 3 hours before we made our move to ear Char Kueh Teow.. Unfortunately, Padang Brown is not open.. only the chinese food court was.. so we had to find another alternative and went to Padang Kota.. makan pasembur.. we were kinda hungry by then.. so we were looking forward for it..
Sampai sampai, we were like girls choosing heels and pumps! but for our tummy!!! good god banyak gile we took! but actually.. tak banyak.. cause we were gonna share it for 6.. we had some kuehs, 2 of squids and 1 medium size prawn… it cost us MYR 40!! that is just super crazy!!! too expensive! say no to it!! but it has been paid, and we just eat it up…
We were suddenly werewolves, gobbling the Pasembur like no one’s business! we ended up finishing it up but we still want more.. rubbish dispencer pun kalah.. so we decided to get another plate, from another place.. just to taste and feel who’s taste better.. so Faisal went to get another plate almost the same thing from the one before but without the animals, i.e., squids and prawn.. And how much is the pasembur now?MYR18!!! Damn we were cheated… So not fair… well, that’s how it is… Once you are an outsider, they’ll get you pay like hell.. if locals, they would probably make a big fuss out of it.. So, if you are visiting this place for pasembur, get some Penang-ites with you or get yourself converted to a Penang-ites for a day hehehhee…
After that big meal.. we ended our journey in Penang and began our trip to Perak……..
